Heading into Summer 2020

It's been a rough year to say the least...

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well with all the craziness going on this year! I've been pretty much sheltered in place since the 1st of March. Being a musician and songwriter, my daily routine at home hasn't really changed that drastically. I'll admit the first week or so I was overwhelmed by it all and really didn't do much. But as time passed I got myself together and began to write and record. Since then I've written close to 10 new songs and worked through some past songs I've written over the years. I now have about 25 songs or so recorded since the lockdown started. I'm feeling I might have a new album I need to put out. I've written a few about the effects of the virus and the world we live in because of it. One song, "I Just Don't Know" is my feelings about it all summed up. The song and video are here in the post.

I've also written a new song called "Message of Peace".... it's about my feelings on the George Floyd murder and the unrest and protests in our country. I drew my inspiration from Martin Luther King and his teachings. The world is different place than it was when he was here over 50 years ago spreading his message of non-violent protest. But I think his love and message still hold true. It's time we all just listen... You can watch the video here as well. Thanks to my son Adam Chiaravalle for putting this video together for me!

This year was going to be a light year for touring anyway for me with Michael McDonald because of the Doobie Brothers 50th anniversary tour. Now that tour has been postponed until July of 2021. So any future touring with Michael won't happen until at least the spring of 2021, if at all. That's unsettling to say the least. I miss playing with Mike and the band. I hope we get to do that again before too long.

In the meantime I continue to do what I know best... write and record. People have been so kind and responsive to the music I've been putting out. By the way, I did release a new album in January of this year called "This Is What I See". CDs are sold out right now but you can download it or stream it here along with all my other music.
